Technical department at Vision for Africa International Christian College is committed to creating an environment where people thrive and contribute to improving the quality of life in national and international communities, as well as enhancing the wealth creation of the individuals and nation at large, through excellence in teaching, research and services.

The reputation of Technical department, vision for Africa International Christian College, is largely a function of tailored programs that we expose to the students that we admit. An emphasis that greatly enriches the quality of their education experiences and helps to equip them with experiences needed to meet the challenges of today's' realities within the society.

As a department, we are mindful of applicants who have decided it is cheaper and easier to obtain a National Certificate at this institution than other institutions. Outside the classroom, students benefit from a multitude of networking opportunities to enhance student's personal development that include professional and social contacts, career development assistance and real life experiences, mainly through the real life projects available for all programs.

The spirit of Christian faith and co-operation among instructors/lecturers, along with solid balanced programs that we have, continued to attract students in and around Uganda, the region and the world at large.

National Certificate in Woodwork Technology

This National Certificate in Woodwork Technology (NCWT) programme is aimed at producing Carpenters and Joiners who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is learner-centred and competence-based and emphasizes practical teaching, projects and acquisition of skills by the learners.

Future Prospects:

NCWT graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree in Interior design, Housing administration, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Water Engineering, Information and Communication Technology or any other related course/programme. Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as Carpenter, Joiner, Wood Sculptor, Upholster, Entrepreneur, Assistant Instructor, Workshop Assistant, Trade Foreman/Supervisor of Works, Interior designer.


National Certificate in Building and Construction Practice

This National Certificate in Building Construction (NCBC) programme is aimed at producing Builders who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is learner-centred and competence-based and emphasizes practical teaching, projects and acquisition of skills by the learners.

Future Prospects:

NCBC graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree in Interior and Land scape design, Housing administration, Water Engineering , Civil Engineering, Architecture, Ceramics Engineering, in Information Technology and any other related course/ programme.
Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as mason, assistant instructor, Workshop Assistant, Trade Foreman/ Supervisor of Works.

National Certificate in Plumbing Studies

This National Certificate in Plumbing (NCPL) programme is aimed at producing plumbing technicians who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is learner-centred and competence-based and emphasizes acquisition of skills by the learners through practical teaching and execution of projects.

Future Prospects:

NCPL graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree in Water Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Information and Communication Technology and any other related course/ programme.

Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as Plumber, Fabricator, maintenance plumber, plumbing mechanic, pipefitter, and steamfitter.

National Certificate in Automotive Mechanics

This National Certificate in Automotive Mechanics (NCAM) PROGRAM is aimed at producing Automotive Mechanics who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is learner-centred and competence-based. It emphasizes acquisition of skills by the learners, through practical teaching and execution of projects.

Future Prospects:

NCAM graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Water Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Mechanisation and any other related course/ programme.

Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as automobile mechanic, automotive service technician, bus mechanic, motor vehicle mechanic, truck and transport mechanic, fabricators, workshop managers /Supervisors.


National Certificate in Electrical Systems Installation

This National Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance (NCES) programme is aimed at producing electricians who are relevant to the industry and world of work. It is learner-centred and competence-based and emphasizes acquisition of skillsthrough practical teaching and execution of projects.

Future Prospects:

NCES graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronic and Software Engineering, Information and Communications Technology and any other related course/ programme.

Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as Linesman, Meter Reader, Power Station Electrician, Power System Operator, Electrical Maintenance Foreman, Electricians, Industrial Electricians, Power System Electricians, Telecommunications Installation and Repair Workers, Cable Television Service and Maintenance Technicians, maintenance electrician, Solar technologists/workers.


National Certificate in Pottery and Ceramics

This National Certificate in Pottery & Ceramics (NCPC) programme introduces pottery as an art form and explores the basics of forming and shaping clay. This course introduces glazing, firing, designing and kiln loading. Students receive an overview of the history of ceramics and acquire techniques in hand-building.

Programs may require students to create glaze notebooks, which allow them to record accrued glaze recipes, preparation facts and application techniques. These notes are used when students begin experimenting on a variety of pottery projects.

Future Prospects:

NCPC graduates may opt to further their skills and education by offering a Diploma/ degree Ceramics Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, art and designs, painting, illustration, or sculpture, architecture, graphic, film production and any other related course/ programme.

Graduates of this course will have the knowledge and skills to work as professional pottery and ceramics instructors at schools, Ceramics gallery salespersons, Studio artists, Production potters, Workshop managers/supervisors.



National Certificate in Fashion and Design

This National Certificate Course aims at equipping students with hands-on skills in Garment cutting, Sewing, Pattern Draftiing, Design Creation, record keeping, Fashion Analysis etc. At the end of this two year course, the student is able to do Fashion Creation and Drawing in different fashion industries.

One's career paths include; being be able start their business, seek employement in different Industries (in the production, spinning, weaving, printing etc.). Skills such as making Jackets, Man's Wear, Ladies Wear, Children's Wear, Party Wear, Traditonal Wear, Crafts (earings, necklaces, bangles, handbags, carpets, hats, cushions) ensure the studenst is well equiped for life in the real world.

Opportunities for Upgrading are available. Students can choose to do a Diploma in Fashion Photography, Fashion Design, Textile Science at University.
